Amy Edmondson Round Table

Three Hours on Going Beyond HR

05 October 2026 | 09:00 – 12:00 | Stockholm & Online

A conversation no one in the room can predict

Amy Edmondson – the researcher who put psychological safety on the map – is coming to Stockholm for an intimate, three-hour round table hosted by Inner Development Business Coalition and in collaboration with the Swedish HR association and Mentimeter.

This won’t be a keynote speech. Edmondson sits down with a small group of leaders working at the forefront of People and HR departments to think through the real, unresolved complexity of people work, team dynamics, and leadership – live, in the room.

What makes it different: the audience shapes it. Through live polls, everyone present in Stockholm or online, feeds questions and input directly into the conversation as it happens. Where it goes is not scripted in advance. No one around the table knows exactly what the next three hours will hold.

“A system’s results are less shaped by its individual parts than by how the parts relate to one another” - Amy Edmondson

This forum is for:

  • People and HR leaders – who want direct access to the latest research behind psychological safety and teaming in a world of AI integration.
  • Leaders and managers – anyone wrestling with building teams that can take real risks and learn from failure.
  • Anyone curious about group dynamics and leadership – those in the mood for a genuine, unfiltered exchange rather than a stage talk.

What to expect:

  • A live round table with distinguished People and HR professionals

  • Real-time participation via Mentimeter polls, whether you’re in the room or joining online.

  • A discussion grounded in Edmondson’s shift from her foundational work on psychological safety and team learning in an AI focused world toward her more recent focus: how leaders handle failure, drawing on her book Right Kind of Wrong: The Science of Failing Well (2023).

Amy C. Edmondson is the Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management at Harvard Business School.

She pioneered the research on psychological safety in teams and has been named the world’s #1 management thinker by Thinkers50.

Amy’s seventh and latest book, Right Kind of Wrong, examines how to distinguish good failure from bad – and how organisations can learn to fail well instead of just avoiding failure or celebrating it uncritically.
